The trusted advisor is a popular term right now, but what does it actually mean, and how do you make the leap to “trusted advisor”? It starts with the debits and credits and keeps you where you feel most comfortable - in the numbers. This session will focus on defining the trusted advisor in terms of services you are perfectly positioned to provide, and maybe help you realize some of the services you shouldn’t be providing, but instead, partnering with others to make sure your client is taken care of.

And legislative changes are profoundly impacting the way finance deals with payroll. Learn about the issues affecting your payroll operations and prepare your organization for future changes. The session will focus on changes at the Federal and provincial levels.

The Federal level of government has a significant impact on the lives of payroll professionals through the legislation and regulations that they have responsibility for. A component of the discussion will focus on updates from the Canada Revenue Agency and Service Canada and what the impact is on payroll currently and in the future.

Recently there has been a significant amount of change in many provinces relative to legislation and regulation impacting payroll. This has particularly been the case with Employment and Labour Standards. The session will also look in detail at what is changing on a provincial level in Ontario and through the country currently and in the future.
